My Time Has Come — Overcoming & Fighting Stigma May 19, 2013
For more than 20 years, I existed in the shadows, suffered and survived in silence for fear of slipping into the venomous tentacles of that vicious vitriolic villain called stigma. Stigma's stench, stain and sting overshadowed and undermined my desire and ability to discuss or disclose my status. My status as HIV positive was for too long a deep dark secret that separated and isolated me from me, from intimacy on many levels, and from nurturing, open and honest relationships with family or friends.
